QUICK ALERT: Sandia Mesa to participate in #Zuxit Facebook Protest

Originally published at sandiamesa.wixsite.com on September 27, 2016.

More lately, controversies have grown over what appears to be random censorship of Facebook posts due to an unfair and unaccountable reporting system. An example of this includes the removal of a livestream from Unicorn Riot, which showed Dakota Access Pipeline protesters getting arrested.

While Facebook continuously claims that its staff reviews the content, the experiences of such pages like that protesting the next three days suggest otherwise.

Thus, we are standing in solidarity with over 100 content producers and page admins, against the “automated censorship” which is often answered by Facebook themselves in such poor manners.

Beginning September 28, 2016, at 12:01am, the Facebook profile and cover photo will be changed to the logo above. During this time, none of our tweets will be re-posted to Facebook. Also, all social media posts will be exclusively on our Twitter account @sandia_mesa_mlh

Likewise, we invite all of our fans to do the same until October 1st, 2016 at 12:01am.

For more information on this protest, visit the Meme Alliance’s Actions page on their website: http://memealliance.org/actions/

See you in October, Facebook!
